Silver Perch can withstand a wide range of water temperatures (from 12 to 32 degrees Celsius). For use in Aquaponics these ornamnetals are supplied as fingerling about 3 cm long and already weaned onto a fish food pellet. These fish are good companions and school together and love duckweed and algae as well as their regular fish food pellets
Fish can be bagged and dispatched by bus within SA but generally should be picked up from store unless special prior arrangements have been made.
A 400 litre reservoir used for Aquaponics could support up to a dozen fingerlings - more if additional filtration is used to remove the solid wastes generated by the fish.
