Ammonium Test Kit

Ammonium water quality test kit using simple water chemistry to produce a colour that you match against a chart to find the ammonium level in your water. Full instructions are in the kit with all the parts and chemicals required to conduct up to 80 tests.

If your system has ammonium in the water then this can kill fish. Ammonium is produced by the fish as part of their excretions and when uneaten food is processed by heterotrophic bacteria. If fish are stressed they can produce higher levels of ammonium than normal.

Generally you are measuring very small levels and this kit has colour tabs for 0.0, 0.1, 0.2, 0.5, 1.0 and 2.0 mg/L NH4+

1 mg/L is equivalent to 1 part per million so it does not take much ammonium to kill your fish.

To measure a range higher than 2 mg/L Soladome can supply a dilution kit so you can dilute your sample to obtain a reading within the range of the colour tabs.
